This is a super-efficient electrode made out of both graphite and plastic. This combination allows extra durability and this is the main reason why it is superior to a graphite block. 

 

To be used in electrolysis, batteries, fuel cells, vanadium batteries, and any other application that requires durability, good conductivity, and acid resistance.
